Little Orphan Annie is a domestic long hair grey tabby kitten that was found in a parking lot all by herself. She had a severe infection in both eyes and had no control of her left front leg which dragged on the ground when she walked. Her left eye was severely damaged and needed to be removed. Her right eye had a ruptured cornea, and we were able to stabilize her eye with treatment. At Wayward Cats, Annie has made a remarkable recovery and has grown into one of the most loving and affectionate residents at our Sanctuary.

As we near the end of year, many of us will be considering making tax deductible donations for 2025. Oscar came to Wayward Cats Sanctuary in March of 2024 after he lost his owner. He is a very handsome young cat that gets along well with other cats. He loves to play with feather toys or anything else that he can chase. Oscar is a little shy at first but warms up once he gets comfortable with his new environment. He has no health issues and is very good about using the litter box.

He was a very typical kitten that loved to romp and play with his siblings and cause as much chaos as possible. He had some minor health issues that didn’t slow him down but did keep reoccurring making it very difficult to find him a home. He is now a full time Wayward Cat, and we are happy to provide him his forever home.

As is common in hoarding environments, she did not have much contact with new people and as a result was extremely shy and distrustful. We worked to socialize her and as time went on, she became a little more outgoing and will now allow people she knows to pet her, if she’s in the mood. She is very happy living at the sanctuary and we’re happy to provide her a safe home.

He was a very typical kitten with lots of energy, always running around chasing other kittens until he was exhausted and then crashing for a nap. It was long before we noticed that there was sometime different about him. He would suddenly stop and stare into space and hiss at nothing and after a few seconds he would snap out of it and look at you like he was asking what the heck happened. It turned out that he was having mini seizures which made him unadoptable. As he got older the seizures increased in severity and he would occasionally have a full-blown convulsion. He’s now on a daily dose of phenobarbital to prevent him from seizing.

We received a call from our vet saying they had a healthy 7-year-old cat that the owner wanted to euthanize because they were moving out of state. Unfortunately, this is not all that unusual of an occurrence in our society. She was not comfortable around other cats, so I decided to make her my office cat. Her favorite place to lay down is on my desk in front of my monitor. If I’m sitting back watching a video she will cuddle up on my stomach and snuggle. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to euthanize such a loving and wonderful cat.

She was a very small cat, probably less than a year old, and already a mom. She was malnourished and really couldn’t produce enough milk to keep her babies alive. With high calorie food and care she regained her health but was still shy and would hide whenever there were people around. She eventually became more social and now comes to us for love and affection.

She was extremely shy and wary of people, and it looked like it would be very difficult to find her a home. As a kitten she bonded with Noel who was a nursing mom at the time, and they became inseparable. She started getting over her “people” shyness as she matured and eventually she morphed into the perfect lap cat. She is still very bonded with Noel and you often find them snuggled together for a nap.

They were adopted together in July but were returned after a couple of months because they were always getting into things and causing issues. When they came back to the sanctuary it soon became apparent that Ila was this dynamic duo’s ringleader. She is the most curious cat and is always finding something to do to get herself in trouble. When she’s not getting into mischief, she is one of the most loveable and affectionate cats you could ask for.

They had been living on their own for over a year and the only human contact was with a volunteer who stopped by to feed them and change their litter boxes. Trey appears to be much older than his two brothers. He is very shy and will give a warning hiss when people encroach on his space. He tends to hang out with Onyx and Tiger but will sometimes migrate to other parts of the sanctuary. He gets along well with the other sanctuary residents but is very shy around people and really doesn’t like being touched.

It was only supposed to be for a short time until her family got settled into a new home but unfortunately that home did not allow cats. She is a very affectionate girl that loves attention and enjoys ear scratches and belly rubs. She loves to cuddle with her people for lap naps. While she gets along with outer cats, she very happy to be an only cat. She is very good about using the litter box.

Came from the same home as Oscar. He was a little shy at first but warmed up once he got comfortable with in his new environment. He must have had a rough start because his left ear shows some battle damage. Now he loves attention and is very content to sit in your and get back scratches. He has no health issues and is very good about using the litter box. He will probably spend the rest of his life at the sanctuary, and we are happy to be his new forever home.

Of the three cats, Onyx was the most social and would come out when the volunteer brought out the food. He gets along well with the other sanctuary residents but is very shy around people and really hates being touched.

All of his siblings were adopted but Charlie just couldn’t be socialized. He would hiss, spit, and scratch wherever anyone tried to work with him. He stayed with the foster family until May 2025 when came to the sanctuary. He still does not tolerate people but gets along fine with the sanctuary residents, so we are happy to provide a safe place for him to live.

He is a big boy, hence the name Bubba. It was supposed to be only for a short stay until they returned from a trip, but they decided they didn’t want him. Bubba does not like people and will hiss and scratch if you get too near, so there is little chance that anyone would adopt him. Fortunately, he gets along very well with the other cats, so we are happy to provide him a place in the sanctuary.

She is a very petite little girl that is a loving and affectionate cat that loves attention. Betsy spends most of the day sleeping and loves to hop up into one of the wall boxes to nap. She loves wet food and is always right there whenever there are Temptation treats. She has a skin condition that causes her to keep losing hair. We are happy to provide her with a safe and peaceful place to spend his years!

I like to sit by a window and watch the birds and any other critters that may pass by. Food is the way to my heart, so we will become fast friends when you feed me. I especially like Temptation Treats! I'm currently living at the cat sanctuary and am looking forward to meeting you soon! Izzy came to Wayward Cats as a kitten in April of 2023 along with her sister Ila. They were adopted together in July but were returned after a couple of months. It seems that this dynamic duo were always getting into some kind of mischief. One of their favorite tricks was unrolling paper towel and toilet paper rolls whenever that got the chance. Back at the sanctuary, we were able to redirect their energy into less destructive

behaviors.
